She was/is a good ‘un, that’s for sure. In the ways that we live on after we die, she is present now too—her voice just like yesterday in my memory, fresh and vibrant.
What a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing! It holds so much for me. This year I am focusing on truly learning to be present with nature. I am embracing my feet as portals of access and the wisdom is in listening. This is a gift to me today. I honor the Wendy Wisdom in you. Keep listening to your voices. Blessings!
I just told a friend the other day that I think she prays with her feet whenever she can’t resist putting them into icy cold waters. And now this! I love exploring this topic and you do so beautifully. This was a gift to my morning. 🧡
I love that, praying with feet! Icy cold is kind of the opposite of prayer for me, but whatever fosters that connection with Earth, with self, with the universe is prayer for sure. 🩵
Thank you so much for this beautiful and intimate sharing of your experiences, Priscilla! This sentence swept me off my feet - “As if the surest foundation for life is none at all, just listening.” This rings so true to me.
It’s something that’s easier to come to, I think, after we’ve had the rug swept out from under us a few times. All those things we used to set our lives on… Glad you enjoyed it.
Not only did she show us the art of living, but also the art of dying. Somehow she navigated her death with grace and dignity, and her journey is still an inspiration.
I didn't see her at all during her last months, but her life practice of opening, over and over, must have been about the best one possible for navigating the end of life too. Thanks for dropping by and adding your voice, aj.
This is just what I needed today on many levels, especially about "simply listening." Loved your description about yoga. I remember Wendy well. She'd no doubt be delighted by this piece.
I'm so glad it helps today! It's so challenging to describe what it actually looks like and feels like to move by listening, so I'm happy if the yoga descriptions make sense. Thanks for letting me know. And Wendy was delighted by most sincere attempts at anything, so yes, I bet she'd love this. And especially Bootsie. :-D
What a beautiful piece of writing. I loved the ideas of discussion and argument in the body. I very much agree with Wendy of the connection of yoga and nature - I loved her descriptions of earth.
Welcome back! Hope all goes well with you, Rain.
Thank you for sharing your grief and your love. I am listening.
Thank you, Fotini. Listening is such a rich way to move through life!
“The earth speaks to you through your feet…
Magnificent; all of this, Priscilla.”🩵🌱
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Katharine. I learned so much from Wendy about body and Earth!
I've been teaching for many years. Wow, she was old soul.🌱

Thank you, Linda. Such a wise way to proceed through life! Blessings too in your listening.
So beautifully and lightly heard and written.
🙏 In keeping, I hope, with Wendy's own way of moving with ease.
What a beautiful remembrance, and a much-needed lesson: listen. Within and without. Listening is generous, spacious, healing. Thank you, Priscilla.
So glad you enjoyed it, Susan. So much like your path too, yes? Blessings in your listening.
Like my path, yes, but I really needed the reminder just now! <3

It definitely took a few suddenly disappearing rugs for me to begin to understand this, too!

She knew the connection from the inside out. Glad it resonated, Catriona.
"That writing, to be generous, begins in letting go and listening." Yes. Thank you so much for this beautiful piece.
🙏 It helped me process grief to write it. I hope it helps too when others need it. Welcome, Suzanne.
